On 9/2/26, HFSRB's rules regarding the Cardiac Catheterization category of service were updated. The changes include revising utilization standards, updating peer review requirements, amending physician referrals, changing the unnecessary duplication of service criterion, and establishing new accreditation standards. In addition, the rules associated with the Organ Transplant and Kidney Transplant categories of service, the Subacute Care Hospital Model, and the Children's Respite Care Center Alternative Health Care Mode  were repealed. These changes were published in the September 18th edition of the Illinois Register. NOTICE OF AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

In accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act, notice is given of the receipt of eleven Applications for Change of Ownership from Ascension Health and Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. The eleven facilities are:

E-017-24 Ascension Saint Mary - Kankakee, Kankakee

E-018-24 Ascension Saint Mary - Chicago, Chicago

E-019-24 Ascension Saint Joseph - Joliet, Joliet

E-020-24 Ascension Saint Joseph - Elign, Elgin

E-021-24 Ascension Saint Francis, Evanston

E-022-24 Ascension Mercy, Aurora

E-023-24 Ascension Resurrection, Chicago

E-024-24 Ascension Saint Elizabeth, Chicago

E-025-24 Belmont/Harlem Surgery Center, LLC, Chicago

E-026-24 Prescence Lakeshore Gastroenterology, LLC 

A public hearing has been requested for all eleven changes of ownership.  (The Time and Place of these public hearing will be announced at a later date)

The Applications were deemed substantially complete on August 14, 2024. Consideration by the State Board has been tentatively scheduled for the October 29, 2024, State Board Meeting. Any person wanting to submit written comments on these projects must submit these comments by October 9, 2024. The State Board will post its findings in a State Board Staff Report, and the report will be made available via the internet on October 15, 2024. The public may submit written responses in support of or in opposition to the findings of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
