NOTICE OF REVIEW AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND WRITTEN COMMENT

In accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act, notice is given of receipt to establish a Medical Office Building (MOB) in Kankakee. Project #26-031, Riverside Medical Center Pavilion II, Kankakee. Applicants: Riverside HealthSystem d/b/a Riverside Healthcare and Riverside Medical Center. The applicants propose establishing a four-story MOB in 80,000 GSF of newly constructed space on the campus of its hospital located at 401 North Wall Street, Kankakee. Project cost: $59,635,866.

The application contained a Safety Net Impact Statement and was declared complete on June 16, 2026. A copy of the application may be viewed at the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board Office, at the address below. Consideration by the State Board has been tentatively scheduled for the September 15, 2026, State Board Meeting. Requests for hearings must be received by this Agency no later than July 1, 2026. Any person wanting to submit written comments on this project must submit these comments by August 26, 2026.  The State Board will post its findings in a State Board Staff Report, which will be made available on the internet on August 31, 2026. The public may submit written responses in support of or in opposition to the findings of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
