NOTICE OF REVIEW AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND WRITTEN COMMENT

Per the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act [20 ILCS 3960/], notice is given of receipt for a demolition project at an acute care hospital in Chicago.  Project #26-003, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.  Applicants:  Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.  The Applicants propose demolishing existing foundation structures to accommodate the construction of a new patient tower on the campus of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, 330 East Erie Street, Chicago.  Project cost: $51,283,483.

The application was deemed substantially complete on January 15, 2026. A copy of the application may be viewed at the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board (HFSRB) Office at the address below. Consideration by HFSRB has been tentatively scheduled for the April 14, 2026, meeting. Any person wanting a public hearing on the proposed project must submit a written request for a hearing to:

HFSRB staff must receive requests for hearings by January 30, 2026. The public may also submit written comments on this project. All public written comments must be received by March 25, 2026. HFSRB will post its findings in an HFSRB Staff Report, which will be available online on March 31. The public may submit written responses in support of or in opposition to the findings of the HFSRB staff.
