NOTICE OF REVIEW AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND WRITTEN COMMENT

In accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act, notice is given of receipt to establish an Obstetrics Care category of service at an acute care hospital in Marion. Project #26-021, Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, Marion. Applicant: Deaconess Regional Healthcare Services, Illinois, Inc. d/b/a Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. The applicant proposes to establish an inpatient Obstetric Care Unit in 17,037 GSF of modernized space at its hospital located at 3333 West DeYoung Street, Marion. Project cost: $9,495,901.

The application contained a Safety Net Impact Statement and was declared complete on April 22, 2026. A copy of the application may be viewed at the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board Office, at the address below. Consideration by the State Board has been tentatively scheduled for the September 15, 2026, State Board Meeting. Requests for hearings must be received by this Agency no later than May 7, 2026. Any person wanting to submit written comments on this project must submit these comments by August 26, 2026.  The State Board will post its findings in a State Board Staff Report, which will be made available on the internet on August 31, 2026. The public may submit written responses in support of or in opposition to the findings of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
