On August 15, 2025, the Governor signed Senate Bill 798. This bill amends Section 3 of the Health Facilities Planning Act by revising the definition of "Non-clinical service area" and by establishing new definitions for "Patient care unit" and "Provider". NOTICE OF AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND REQUEST FOR PUBLIC HEARING


In accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act, notice is given of the receipt of an application for exemption for the discontinuation of the 12-bed acute mental illness category of service at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, 701 West North Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois (#E-033-24). The Applicants are Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Loyola University Health System d/b/a Loyola Medicine, and Trinity Health Corporation. The expected completion date is upon State Board approval.


This exemption application was called substantially complete on January 02, 2025. Written requests (no emails or faxes will be accepted) for a public hearing must be received by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board no later than January 17, 2025.
