NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND WRITTEN COMMENTS

Per the requirements of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act [20 ILCS 3960/], notice is provided of receipt of an Application for Permit to establish a Dedicated Observation Unit at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. Applicants include Advocate Health, Inc., Advocate Aurora Health, Inc., and Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation d/b/a Advocate South Suburban Hospital. The Applicants propose to establish a 30-bed Dedicated Observation Unit within 20,400 GSF of modernized space at its hospital located at 17800 South Kedzie Avenue, Hazel Crest. Project cost: $20,728,332.

A public hearing has been requested and is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026 

beginning at 10:00 am at

The Public Hearing is to be held by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board pursuant to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act.  The Hearing is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for interested parties to present written and/or oral comments relevant to the project.  All allegations or assertions should be relevant to the proposed project's need and supported by two copies of documentation or materials printed or typed on paper measuring 8 1/2" by 11".  For additional information, call (217) 782-3516 (TTY: 800-547-0466 for hearing-impaired only).
